1977: The Beginning

Foundation and Early Growth

Bhavan's Rajaji Vidyashram, a co-educational school started in the year 1977 and run by Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, is situated at Kilpauk. From a modest beginning, the school has grown into a prestigious institution in the city of Chennai. The premises where the school is presently located was donated by Shri V. Pattabiraman.

Expansion Years

Classes and Strength

The Vidyashram has classes from LKG to Class 12 with a strength of around 3300 and is affiliated to the CBSE, New Delhi. Academically, the Vidyashram is doing extremely well and has continuously achieved excellent results in both Classes 10 and 12.

Academics and Extracurriculars

The children have excelled not only in academics but also in extracurricular activities like sports, dramatics, elocution, debate, art, painting, spell bee, Gita chanting, olympiads, and more. The school provides an ideal balance of scholastic and co-scholastic growth.

Sports Excellence

State and National Achievements

The children have been representing the state in various sports like cricket, volleyball, swimming, and handball. They have also represented the school at the national level in swimming, skating, karate, chess, table tennis, athletics, kickboxing, and many more disciplines.

2002–2003: Silver Jubilee

The school celebrated its Silver Jubilee during the year 2002–2003, marking 25 glorious years of nurturing young minds and preparing them to face the challenges of the modern world while staying rooted in Indian culture and values.
