Thus was born in June
1976,
Bhavani
Ammal
School
with classes I
to IV. The school at inception was named after the venerable mother of Sri Pattabhiramanji, Later at the instance of Sri Pattabhiraman himself, the name of the school was changed
to Rajaji Centenary Vidyalaya in 1979.
When the Bhavan sponsored the Rajaji Centenary Committee to draw up programmes for
running institutions after Sri. C. Rajagopalachari,
the great patriot and elder statesman of
India
. The campus thereafter came
to be known as Bhavani Campus.
In 1982 the name of the school was changed to Rajaji Vidyashram.
In line with similar Vidyashrams run by the Bhavan in other centres. Sri Giani Zail Singh, President of
India, laid the foundation stone of the new building in 1983.
Some photographs that take us back to the stone laying
function.
