The Chennai Kendra was the second kendra to be set
up after the Delhi Kendra. The Chennai Kendra was started way back in 1958 in
a small room made available by late Shri N. Nilakanthan.
The Kendra had its first Executive Committee meeting in the
Syndicate Room of the Madras
University under the
chairmanship of the distinguished educationalist Dr. A. Lakshmana
Swamy Mudaliar. The
present premises of East Mada Street,
Mylapore was inaugurated by the President of
India Shri V.V. Giri on
September 2, 1972. Since then the kendra has
achieved much.

The Rajaji College
of Comm. & Mgmt. provides Post graduate Diploma courses in
Journalism, Public relations, Marketing and Sales Mangement,
Industrial relations & Personal Management and Business mangement.

The school situated in idyllic surroundings provides an environment
ideal for scholastic acheivement with
character building and exposure to indian
values and tradition. At the Vidyashram the endeavour is to make education alive, challenging
and attractive to childrean, to make it
purposeful, imaginative and devoid of drudgery.
